Sadly to day the lessons didn’t turn out in the camera phase so I will only be able to tell you that the goal was to get the light right on the subject by first stating the light on the subject and then adjusting the values to create the feeling of shadows. First the light and then the shadows. also I wanted everyone to work really quickly to capture the light, atmosphere, and ever changing weather at Pemaquid. Quite a day it was. My two paintings will look very similar they are but both fit the lesson.

15 x 22 watercolor on 300 lb cold pressed paper. This is more light a quick study I was interested in the color of the sky and the dark choppy water. I painted it in 10 minutes to keep it really fresh.
