The Artist In The Studio

Today’s painting is about creating an interesting white piece, sky and clouds, and painting some nice expressive brushwork, tree limbs into the white shape which creates a piece of movement and focus into the painting.  You always want to use the pieces of white paper as an opportunity to say something important but remember it should be done well.

Let the sky bleed a little into the white shape, and really try to create a interesting white shape, using the definition of a good shape, it has a different dimension, width and height, it has a variety of edges, has a change across its’ surface, has movement, big to small, high to low, curvilinear, and has an attachment to the shapes around it, in this circumstances, the tree limbs.
