In The Studio: Number 76 of 90 Paintings in 90 Days, “Before Now”

drawing of the painting focus is on one interesting dark shape of horses, cowboys, and cattle.paint the first figure and horse with a small round brush number 10 with a dark mixture.  Don’t be afraid to really mix a strong dark.  The goal is to get it to read with a strong contrast against the background.  Use a creative brush varying the edges and leave out everything that is not essential.  Remember this is an abstraction of the subject matter not really cows, horses and riders.Add second figure and horse and then work towards and through the cattle.Leave the space between some of the cattle for an interesting rhythm.Add cool shadows and some scattered texture for interest in the front.detail of the riders, shadows and cattle.
