In The Studio: Several More New Abstracts

The Artist In The Studio

These three paintings, I just finished and wanted to put up before heading to Maine.  As you know I paint in many styles but I pretty much reserve acrylics for abstract paintings,  To me an abstract is not a combination of all of the tricks that a teacher has shown you but rather a personal language about things that you really respond to.  Being a landscape painter, I love paintings about nature and I love to paint impressions of it. Almost every abstract painting I work on is based in the colors, textures and movement of the landscape.  I hope these evoke a feeling in you when you look at them.‘Moonlight Penopscot Bay”  24 x 24 acrylic on canvas“Perfect Harmony” 24 x 24 Acrylic on Canvas“Intersection” 24 x 24 Acrylic on Canvas

  1. You’ve frozen a gorgeous Maine night in time, captured the blending of harmonies, and visualized the paradox of intersection!

  2. Steve, with you I’m trying to learn the mysterious world of abstraction. I try to, both understand this language, and learn it and can express myself with it. I which I sputter it like my English. Your paintings touched me. respectfully
